The beginning of June has seen us add sides to the head and front frames and build a number of frames for the side pieces (we call them rounds and flyers).
Branded!
It is time for our bull to get branded!
Our outstanding logo was created by the incredibly talented Scott Powers. Not only did he create this, he is responsible for all of our 3D renderings. His help has been an important part of the success we have had to date with this project. More of Scott’s work can be seen here – powersof3d.com.
Horns and Head

The end of May has had us finishing the horns, the flame effect box, and framing up the head of Decotoro.

We even tested the horn flame effect.
Horns!
The team has been hard at work on the bull horns recently. These horns are no simple piece. First, the total span over the vehicle when articulated into “longhorn mode”, will be over 25 feet. Second the horns are the vehicle’s flame effects. And finally, we have to run electric into them and light them up. So yeah, large, moving, well lit, flame effects. Okay, cool.
More Fabrication
April has seen us pushing to get more of Decotoro made, fitted, and eventually ready for paint. In the last week we have skinned the hooves(front and rear) and framed the skirts in between.
Brett has done a brilliant job framing up an art deco keystone inspired cowcatcher.
Burning Man 2019
There is no getting around it, while Decotoro will have a life outside of Burning Man, it was designed specifically with Burning Man and the Department of Mutant Vehicles requirements in mind. After eight months of building, discussing, designing, deciding, drawing, we have a conditional invitation from the Burning Man DMV Hotties to bring Decotoro to Burning Man 2019. The conditions are a) mutate/obscure the rear of the vehicle and b) radical illumination. We have a design in mind for the rear of the vehicle and we know where we can improve our lighting plans and really showcase the art and design of Decotoro.
Our team is so excited!
We’ve been working steadily the last four days on the art/mutation.

More Interior Details
We have added the benches for the upper deck.
We have also been putting together a very nice 12v audio system. We have an application driven head unit, eight Morel speakers, a JBL subwoofer, and some Rockford Fosgate amplifiers.
Now to determine how to place the speaker and the damask pattern on the same panel.
New Tires
Interior Touches
We’ve been hard at work on design, materials decisions, and documenting all of it. Along the way some interior items have been put into the works.
The over the hood chandelier.
Benches for passengers on the rear deck.
Paint it black
We pulled the seats, dash, and wiring harness (again), bondo-ed the welds, and painted it flat black. We want the fame to disappear.
We are almost done with the sub-floor for the decks. Also very close to having all design drawings and the 3D model complete.
